My Journey From PMDD Nightmare to Finding Freedom

My Journey From PMDD Nightmare to Finding Freedom

Hey lovely,

If you’re new around here, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m even more excited to share a piece of my story that might just change the way you think about your cycle, your mental health, and what’s possible for you.

You see, I haven’t always been the cycle-loving, toolkit-crafting, PMDD-thriving woman you see on Instagram. In fact, for a long time, I was stuck in a cycle that felt like it was ruining my life.

The Corporate Hustle That Cracked Me Open

Before all of this, I was a single mother working in the corporate world, doing all the “right” things to build success and create more balance and freedom for my son and me. I was determined to be the best at my job, the best Mum, the best everything. But deep down, I was exhausted, juggling responsibilities, expectations, and that constant feeling that something wasn’t quite right.

And that “something” was PMDD.

When PMDD Crashed the Party

For years, I had no idea why I’d swing from feeling unstoppable to feeling like I’d been hit by a train, crying at my desk, snapping at my son over the smallest things, feeling utterly broken. I genuinely thought I might have bipolar disorder. That’s what it felt like, so many highs and lows, I couldn’t trust myself or my own moods.

Doctors were quick to hand me anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, like sticking a plaster over a deep wound. And when that didn’t “fix” me, I was told: “You might want to consider a hysterectomy to eliminate your symptoms completely.”

That was my rock bottom.

Choosing a Different Path

But deep down, I knew this couldn’t be my forever story. I didn’t want to be defined by PMDD. I didn’t want to lose my womb. I wanted to understand why this was happening and how I could take back control.

So, I decided to become my own best advocate.

I began to really listen to my body, to research PMDD, and to track my cycle with more curiosity than I’d ever done before. I started to understand the hormonal ebbs and flows that were dictating my energy, my moods, and my entire life.

Creating My Cyclical Toolkit

The biggest game-changer? Creating what I now call my Personalised Cyclical Toolkit. This wasn’t a quick fix. It took time, patience, and a whole lot of self-compassion. But month by month, I started to see changes.

Here’s a little peek into what my toolkit included:
🌿 Aromatherapy (my blends are now my best-sellers!)
🛁 Bath salts that help me melt stress away
📓 Journaling to understand my triggers and patterns
🍽️ Nourishing foods that support each phase
💤 Prioritising rest when my body needed it
🌳 Time in nature to ground myself
🧘♀️ Nervous system regulation practices (this was huge for me)

By working with my cycle, instead of fighting it, I began to heal. And bit by bit, I transformed my PMDD story from something that controlled me into something that empowered me.

Where I Am Now (And How You Can Start, Too)

Today, I’m more in tune with my body than ever before. I still have days where I’m challenged, but PMDD no longer runs my life. I’ve swapped the corporate hamster wheel for a life that actually feels like mine, a life where I get to help other women, like you, reclaim their cycles and their freedom.

If you’re reading this and nodding along, please know this:
👉 You are not broken.
👉 There is another way.
👉 You can start small, by tracking your cycle, noticing patterns, and beginning to understand your unique rhythm.

I’d love for you to check out the resources I’ve created (like my free guides and aromatherapy blends) and, when it’s ready, my FLO Method Workbook, the exact framework I used to change my story.

Because you deserve to feel balanced, energised, and in control of your life, no matter what your cycle throws at you.
